This image is using a thin lens camera to create proper depth of field and a new point cloud object primitive type (only available in the latest dev version on SVN). The point cloud data itself was created by an ultra simple 10 line Java/Processing sketch and is a super long strand of 200,000 particles (molecule chain like). Render time 3.5 hours…
